Place your order now for a personalized tote bag stitched with your name or initials, fave author or book title—the sky’s the limit up to 18 characters and once placement (or add a second placement for $15)! Let’s just say it’s the perfect gift for the book lover in your life (who we all know is you—just admit it!).

No computers are involved in the monogramming process: each bag personalization is “written” freehand with Kait’s script embroidery on her vintage Singer 114w103 chainstitch embroidery machine. Each monogram is slightly different, handmade and one-of-a-kind!

Instructions for ordering your bag:

  1. Choose your thread color from the options listed

  2. Choose your monogram (up to 18 characters) & write it in the customization section (no numerals, pls!)

    1. Name (first, last or both; no IG handles)

    2. Initials (up to 3 capital letters, no periods)

    3. Word/Book Title

  3. Choose your placement & indicate placement in the customization section

    1. Author line

    2. Title line

    3. Borrower’s Name line

  4. Optional: add a second personalization placement (i.e. title: Little Women, borrower: your name)

FAQ

Q: Will Kait stitch a bad word on my bag?

A: Yes! Kait will stitch “fuck” on your bag :) Barring any racist, misogynistic, ableist, xenophobic, or homophobic language beyond reclaiming language, there’s no censorship here! 

Q: When will my tote be ready?

A: Turnaround on totes is 2-3 weeks, usually faster

Q: How do I order more than one bag?

A: Please only add one bag at a time to your cart so the personalization attaches to each bag

Q: Can I purchase a bag without chainstitch embroidery?

A: Sure! But you will pay the same price as one without, so we think it’s best to add embroidery!

Shipping

I offer shipping options from USPS, UPS, and FedEx. I only ship out items twice a week: on Saturdays and Wednesdays (barring any federal holidays). Please refer to each item's listed turnaround time for questions about order timing, and please allow for more shipping time during these unprecedented times. 

The address you enter at checkout is the address I will use to ship your item to.

Returns/Exchanges

Bottom line: I do not accept returns, but I do allow exchanges on some items. Many of my items are one-of-a-kind or personalized in some way, so offering open-ended returns is just not manageable for me. If you are ultimately unhappy with your purchase or customization, please email me (help@kaitmakes.com) and I'll do everything I can do make it right.
