Chainstitched Mini Canvases by Kait Makes, created in collaboration with Lisa Taniguchi, a Lettering Artist & Muralist from Vancouver, Canada

Want the look of a chainstitched patch in your home but not sure how to make it work?

Chainstitched canvases are the perfect way to add some texture to a wall or shelf! Easy to hang or lean.

Each canvas is chainstitched by hand on raw canvas and then stretched over a wooden frame and secured.

Lisa is a Japanese-Canadian lettering artist based in Vancouver. Her work can be seen online, on canvas, and as murals as big as 3,000 square feet! Past clients include McDonalds,, & GoFundMe. Find her work on Instagram @lisa.taniguchi or online at

“Ume” means plums, which are cherry blossoms’ less famous, but equally beautiful sibling! Ume are popular in Japan both for their flowering trees, but also in food. Umeboshi anyone?

It’s no secret that sakura, cherry blossoms, are hugely popular in Japan. They symbolize the life and death - how immensely beautiful, but tragically short life is.

I offer shipping options from USPS, UPS, and FedEx. I only ship out items twice a week: on Saturdays and Wednesdays (barring any federal holidays). Please refer to each item's listed turnaround time for questions about order timing, and please allow for more shipping time during these unprecedented times.

The address you enter at checkout is the address I will use to ship your item to.

Bottom line: I do not accept returns, but I do allow exchanges on some items. Many of my items are one-of-a-kind or personalized in some way, so offering open-ended returns is just not manageable for me. If you are ultimately unhappy with your purchase or customization, please email me ( and I'll do everything I can do make it right.
